Rotheca Musical Note Plant is a highly sort after collectors plant! With its stunning pure white flower buds sitting high in a cluster resembling musical notes!
It is a small to medium size shrub with a compact growth habit. It is evergreen in warmer growing regions and semi-deciduous to deciduous in cooler climates. The leaves are light green, serrated and are approximately 5 - 10 cm long.
The flower buds appear as a cluster at stem tips during warmer months. The flower buds lengthen resembling musical notes! Flowers start to open at night and continue for approximately 2 weeks. The open flowers resemble small white butterflies. Multiple flowerings occur during warmer months.
Rotheca Musical Note Plant grows in a diverse range of environmental conditions, including hot, humid tropics in the north to cool areas in the south. It will grow in a full sun to semi-shade position.
Rotheca Musical Note Plant has a moderate watering requirement to establish and requires less water once established. It will benefit from a yearly application of slow release fertiliser applied in Spring and a fresh application of mulch.
Pruning is not necessary but can be done to maintain a more compact form or to maintain it as a border or low hedge.
Rotheca Musical Note Plant is a very versatile plant and can be used in various situations. It can be grown as a pot plant which produces a lovely feature plant for verandahs and balconies. It can be used as a feature plant or low border / hedging plant in gardens and landscapes.
Eligibility of this plant as a registrable plant variety under Section 43(6) of the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994, will expire on 18 January 2020
