Malpighia Pixie is a versatile, small evergreen shrub that has fine, green foliage and produces clusters of dainty, pink coloured flowers, attracting butterflies and birds. After flowering, shiny, bright red fruit can form which are edible. The fruit has exceptionally high levels of vitamin C.

Malpighia Pixie will grow in a diverse range of environmental conditions, including hot, humid tropics in the north to cooler areas in southern states.
Malpighia Pixie has a low watering requirement once established. Prefers most soils that are well drained. It will benefit from a yearly application of slow release fertiliser applied in Spring.
Pruning is not necessary but can be done to maintain a more neat, compact form.
A compact shrub suited to any garden or landscape, including smaller house blocks and area restricted public spaces. The masses of bright pink flowers that it produces over several months are highly attractive to birds and insects, especially butterflies. The fruit it produces is edible.
It is an ideal plant for containers on balconies and verandas and has been used indoors in very bright, well light areas.
Malpighia Pixie is a great choice for Bonsai.
