Carex Blue Cascade is an exciting new compact selection of Carex. It has stunning, grey-green foliage that is very compact and has a weeping habit.
It requires very little maintenance once established. This carex will grace the homes and gardens of many, for years to come!
Carex Blue Cascade will grow in a diverse range of environmental conditions; including hot, humid tropics in the north to cool temperate areas in southern states. It will tolerate heavy frosts and snow.
Carex Blue Cascade has a low watering requirement once established, however can handle very damp areas along water courses and dams. It will benefit from a yearly application of slow release fertiliser applied in Spring. It prefers a growing position from full sun to part shade. It can be trimmed or mowed to give it a neat appearance.
Carex Blue Cascade is a very versatile plant and can be used in various situations. It can be used as a border along water features, dams and drainage lines in landscapes. It helps to minimise soil erosion in these environments. It can be used as a low border in gardens and landscapes or planted en masse to give a stunning display showing off its grey-green foliage.
Eligibility of this plant as a registrable plant variety under Section 43(6) of the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994, will expire on 19 September 2020.
