Scientific Name: Agave geminiflora

Agave Gem looks like it has been architecturally designed for the garden! It has a single stem and forms a dense, symmetrical rosette with narrow, cylindrical, dark green leaves. The leaves can grow up to 60 cm in length. As the leaves age, small white threads curl back on the margins of the leaf.
It is a medium size agave and will grow in most areas of Australia.
Agave Gem will grow for many years before it will eventually flower and die. Some plants have been known to take more than 50 years of growth before flowering!
Agave Gem grows in a diverse range of environmental conditions, including hot, humid tropics in the north to cool areas in the south. It will grow in a full sun to full shade position.
Agave Gem has a low water requirement to establish and requires less water once established. This is the perfect drought tolerant plant!
Agave Gem is a very versatile plant and can be used in various situations. It can be grown as a pot plant which produces a lovely feature plant for verandahs and balconies. It can be used as a feature plant or low border / hedging plant in gardens and landscapes. Excellent choice to keep animals or pedestrian traffic off of garden areas.
