Acronychia Vista is a versatile small tree that has glossy green foliage and produces clusters of small, cream coloured flowers which are highly attractive to birds and insects. After flowering, masses of small, shiny yellow fruit can form which are attractive to birds and other native animals. The fruit is used as a bush tucker food. Enjoy this native plant delight!
A specialised propagation technique has been used to improve this plant making it faster growing, having a straighter central leader and a stronger root system.
Acronychia Vista will grow in a diverse range of environmental conditions, including hot, humid tropics in the north to cool temperate areas in southern states and will happily grow on windswept coastal areas to rainforest areas on the ranges.
Acronychia Vista has a low watering requirement once established. It will benefit from a yearly application of slow release fertiliser applied in Spring.
Pruning is not necessary but can be done to maintain a more compact form.
Acronychia Vista can be used in a variety of ways including, as a specimen / display tree, hedging, or en masse as a landscape plant. This plant can be used in coastal sand dune areas for stabilisation of sandy soils and used as a screen or windbreak. It will tolerate salt laden winds.
The fruit can be used as a fresh bush food with the fruit being edible straight off the tree, however some people find them quite tart. The flesh can be used to make jams, sauces and syrups.
